The League
The A-League: two divisions, one cup, a show every week
How A-League is organised: two divisions, a cup that brings them together and a matchday designed as an event, every week.

Matches every week. A-League’s regular season will let teams play matches every week.
An A-League Cup will also be set up so that first and second division teams can face each other.
Promotion / RelegationUnder consideration
A promotion and relegation system is also under consideration: the best-performing teams could move up to the higher division, while the lowest-performing teams could be relegated to the lower division.
This system would heighten sporting suspense, rivalry between teams and fan engagement.
First division
18 to 20 teams
Second division
18 to 20 teams
The league format has been designed to maximise:
- 01
Competitive balance between teams.
- 02
The production of sports and entertainment content.
- 03
Audience engagement and interaction with fans.
