Why A-League
Football is no longer just watched. It is lived.
Yesterday
Television and the stadium
Today
Everything goes through mobile
Football used to reach people through television and the stadium. Today’s generations follow it through clips, highlights, livestreams and their favourite creators. A-League is built for that.

The African market
The youngestcontinent.
Africa is one of the fastest-growing consumer markets in the world. Perhaps more important than its size is the demographic composition: Africa is the youngest continent.

Football: the number one sport across the continent

The Founder
Arest Ekande
Founder and president of A-League
A football fan since childhood, he grew up between neighbourhood pitches and the screens showing the big matches. He has watched a whole generation experience football differently: on mobile, in clips, with their favourite creators.
With A-League, he wants to give that generation a league that looks like them: demanding on the pitch, spectacular off it, and designed from day one for an African audience.
Football is already Africa’s passion. Our mission is to turn it into the biggest show of its youth.
